How do I differentiate product management from project management?

I think its only fair to accept that a product is a result of a combination of performed tasks which may be either a project or an operation. For instance, a constructed office building is the product of a project and which will be handed over to the facilities manager (product manager) to be dealt with accordingly; A bar of soap is the product of an operation and is managed by its product manager after it is manufactured. In both cases, the Product Manager will be dealing with the Product, and someone else will deal with the execution and delivery of the Product itself.
